Hello! I have been extremely absent from blogging lately, but I am getting back to it. Yes, I am still adjusting to becoming Lori, church planter's wife~mother of three~new friend to some~old friend to others~2nd grade homeroom mom~daughter~katymom. I have spent many lunches at Chick-fil-a lately, and found myself gazing at all the moms. We all have different stories, yet so much in common. We all feel so crowded at times, yet alone at other times. Overwhelmed, yet lonely...well, the truth is, we are all the same deep down. We want to do everything well, and keep it all in balance, and not one of us has it down perfectly. We all love our families madly.

So, I'm back to it, ladies! I created a Facebook group today, with the intent of reaching even more KatyMoms. So, join up and share your ideas, favorites, and questions! Get connected!

Festival Time!

Downtown Katy transforms tomorrow as the city celebrates the Rice Harvest Festival! We take the kids every year and have a blast. It is especially a great time if you are new to Katy, as the streets are lined with local vendors and locally-owned businesses. You can shuttle from Katy High School, or try to find a space in the area. Did I mention the carnival food-always a treat! Once again, the weather will be ideal-so get out and enjoy Katy! ~ A yummy Thursday night in Katy ~

This Thursday night in Katy is a yummy one! Here is what I mean.

First ~ Race For Cakes takes place tomorrow night from 6-8. Fitness buffs and pancake-eating couch potatoes in the same place... it doesn't get better than that! If you are looking for me, than don't look any farther than the kitchen. Most of us will be doing a 5K run, walk, or dog-drag before we feast on a pancake dinner. My idea for dessert (because don't you always have dessert after pancakes?!?) is a visit to ColdStone Creamery, where they are hosting a Make-A-Wish fund raiser. The World's Largest Ice Cream Social is Thursday night. You get to give to a great cause, and dine on free ice cream (which actually tastes better than the ice cream you pay for...I'm just sayin...). Make sure to check the Cold Stone site for details!~

New Bible Study

Hello ladies! Let's here it for some time with each other-actual adult conversation. I cannot wait for this study to begin. Our church ladies are getting together Wednesday nights this summer to do a new Beth Moore study and here is the best, I mean here is an important part: childcare provided!!! It is a study on the Pslams, and I had actually started this one already and I love it. Now I get to work on it with my girlfriends-can't beat that! Hey girls! Some friends and I are getting together for brunch at La Madeleine (I-10 and 99). Show up on Saturday, November 10th at 10:30AM for some girl time...leave the kids with the men! See you there!

Good Times, Great Cause!

We had a great time this morning at the Pregnancy Help Center Walk For Life. Not only did we get the opportunity to support an awesome organization, but we spent a beautiful morning with our friends. The PHC did a wonderful job organizing this event-there was a vocalist, face painting, an inflatable, Chick-Fil-A giveaways, a petting zoo, and more! Thanks to everyone who came out!

Walk For Life

We are going to support the Pregnancy Help Center this weekend by participating in the 2007 Walk For Life. It is being held at Crosspoint Community Church (corner of Kingsland and Westgreen) on Saturday, Febuary 17th. Participation is easy!  All you have to do is show up and fill out a registration form!  Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 9:00 a.m. The walk is only 1.3 miles, so all ages are welcome.  There will also be other activities as well, including MoonWalks and a Pie Eating Contest.  This will be a wonderful family friendly event so, bring the kids, join us, and help make a difference in Katy.  Hope to see you there!
